Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal (left) avenged his controversial 2014 loss to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (right) at Bellator 120 on Friday night at Bellator 175 inside the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.
Chicago was the host for Bellator 175, as “King Mo” and “Rampage” headlined the card, but this time at heavyweight (205 to 265 pounds). Even though “King Mo” was outweighed by 41 pounds, he won a clear unanimous decision victory. The 36-year-old did enough to get the edge over the former Pride and UFC champion.
After the victory, “King Mo” is slated to fight former UFC light heavyweight contender Ryan Bader, who recently signed with Bellator, to determine light heavyweight champion Phil Davis‘ first title challenger potentially at Bellator NYC on June 24.
As for “Rampage”, his future is uncertain at the moment with the contractual obligation to fight for the UFC for his next fight. His next opponent is undetermined.
